Who can apply?** Nurses, physiotherapists, respiratory technicians, respiratory physiologist, specialist practitioners and Biomedical Engineers
Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust in association with NIHR Respiratory BRU, MSc Cardio-Respiratory Nursing, NHLI and Imperial College London, are offering a taught MSc module in Lung Failure with practical application.
This Masters level module will help to develop practitioners with a broad understanding of lung failure. It will also increase their understanding of the causes of lung failure, differentiating between acute failure causing and complicating critical illness, and acute-on-chronic lung failure.
On completion the student will be able to integrate acquired knowledge and understanding to inform the approach to evaluating different modes of respiratory support as well as playing a decisive role in developing protocols for patients’ management.
THIS CAN BE TAKEN AS A SINGLE MODULE, ATTENDANCE ONLY (WITHOUT CREDITS) OR AS PART OF THE MSc CARDIO-RESPIRATORY COURSE
The module is scheduled to start in January 2011 and will be taught at the new BRU Clinical Research facility at Fulham Wing.
