Hi im a Male in the UK 32 years old always wanted to work within the NHS in some capacity be it nursing or some other field, ideally it would be nursing but im really open to suggestions. My question is since Id be classed as what in the UK is a mature student my grades on leaving school where not great tbh I dont even know what grades i attained or how to find out these details. Say I got all D's at worse would I be able to somehow get my feet on the ladder into a role with the NHS obv there would be studying and this would involve UNI I assume. Some advice given my best/worst case options would be fantastic

Hi bradqwer
You could work as a HCA you dont need any qualifications & you'd get nursing experience on the wards if no current vacancies you can usually start off on the bank. If you want to qualify as a nurse you could do an access to higher education course at college or uni full or part time, then apply for nurse training courses. That is what I did I started my nurse training at 40 & graduated over a year ago I now work as a community staff nurse - good luck
