Hi all,

By way of introduction, I recently graduated with a First in Fine Art and History of Art from the University of Leeds. I experienced two episodes of psychosis during my degree and have become interested in mental health nursing as a career.

Apart from personal experience of mental health issues, my mother is a mental health nurse and a number of my family have worked in the field, so nursing is something, I believe, is 'in my blood'.

I have an A-level in Biology and appreciate I do not have a relevant degree but believe my skills and experience are transferable and would make me an excellent mental health nurse.

I am considering applying for Accelerated mental health courses and wondered what I could do to improve my chances of being accepted on to this course or should I be looking at an undergraduate program? What do you think?

Best wishes,
Mark
