Hi everyone

I was just wondering if you could offer me some advice.

I have been offered a job as a theatre nurse in paediatrics as a newly qualifed (due to qualify in as a paediatric nurse in a couple of months), what I was wondering is that if I was to take this job do you feel that it would hinder my chances of getting a job back onto the wards?

Your feedback would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Stargirl,

Welcome to the JFN Nursing Forums.

In order for you to build a flexible career around your Paediatric Qualification I would suggest that you would be sensible to get some specialist Paediatric expereince first. Without it you are potentiall putting yourself and your patients at risk as the experience that you draw from in any given situation will be restricted in large part to what you learned through your training.

Good luck

Mojo
